Deliver the trophy hunting import ban

Action type
E-mail

In 2025, the Albanese Government promised to ban hunting trophy imports from an additional 20 species, including giraffes, zebras, hippos, wolves and polar bears. But more than a year later, that promise has still not been delivered.  Instead, between 2023 and 2025, more than 460 trophies from protected species were imported into Australia.

Some of these imports included a black bear rug with head and claws, a zebra skin ottoman, a giraffe table, a hippo clock, and a wolf rug with head, feet, claws and tail attached.

Australians overwhelmingly support action. New national polling found that 91% oppose trophy hunting and 93% want the Government to fulfil its commitment to expand Australia's trophy hunting import ban.

Wild animals belong in the wild, not in shipping containers destined for Australia.

Send a message to Federal Environment Minister Murray Watt and urge him to honour the Government’s promise to implement the ban now.
